Job Outline
Relay Publishing is looking for writers who are intimately familiar with the billionaire bosshole genre and the expectations of this romance sub-genre. You’ll be working alongside the team responsible for the bestselling Leslie North pen name on a new billionaire bosshole series. You’ll work from a detailed outline and will be part of a creative team, including editors and other writers, to bring an unputdownable story to life. Get paid to do what you love and get direct experience writing for a popular romance pen name alongside expert editors and writers.
Necessary Skills & Experience
- A love, bordering on obsession, with the romance genre—in particular the billionaire bosshole sub-genre. You should be familiar with Nicole Snow, Lauren Landish, Nadia Lee, and Olivia Hayle.
- Humor is a big part of this genre and a writing voice able to create laugh-out-loud dialogue, internal thoughts, quips and one-liners is an absolute must. We need a laugh every couple pages to hit genre expectations. Bring the funny!
- Ability to collaboratively work with other members of the creative team.
- High level writing experience. We are looking for the best of the best, with a drive to see the story come to life.
- Excellent communication and time management
- Technologically savvy.

We also require a short sample (around 5000 words) from a book-length manuscript or published work and we’re particularly looking for the inclusion of humor (as stated above) so please ensure that your sample contains this.
Please make sure that you match your sample genre to the sample you submit, i.e. don’t submit a paranormal romance sample and call it billionaire romance. The ideal candidate will have a romance billionaire sample to submit, but we will not rule out other sample submissions as long as it is clear what they are.
