 Job Outline

Our ideal candidate will review manuscripts from a story level—digging into character set up, arcs, plot, structure, pacing and ensuring it all falls within genre expectations for a psychological thriller book. This process requires back and forth communication from our writers and editor. You will also be expected to edit the manuscript with a view to line edits, including story flow, language choice, pacing etc. Doing both developmental and line edits in a single pass is a key requirement.

We want to work with people who are creative, passionate, and conscientious on an ongoing basis. As a virtual office, communication is key—we like to work with individuals who can meet deadlines and communicate clearly and efficiently to keep project coordinators up to date with your progress.


Necessary Skills & Experience

  • Extensive experience within Psychological Thrillers, specifically the Domestic Noir sub-genre. 
  • A love, bordering on obsession, with the psychological thriller genre. Gillian Flynn, B.A. Paris, Alice Feeney, J.P. Delaney and Lisa Jewell—you’ve read them all.
  • Ability to collaboratively work other members of creative team.
  • High level editing experience. We are looking for the best of the best, with a drive to see the story come to life.
  • Excellent communication and time management skills.
  • Technologically savvy


About You

  • A deep knowledge of the genre is required—viable candidates should already have edited and read widely in the Psychological Thriller Domestic Noir genre. 
  • Particularly looking for those with experience working with exciting Domestic Noir storylines that are immersive, character-driven, fast paced, and surprising, providing the shocking plot twists that this genre is known for.  
  • You are passionate about your writing and want to be among of team of exceptional creatives who respect the craft.
  • You will enjoy a challenge and using your problem-solving skills to define what is next in the story.  
  • You are a person who enjoys the brainstorming process and high level collaborative creation.
